On the road again

After a couple of months spent almost exclusively at home the last part of this year will be a complete contrast, with a trip away pretty much every weekend. I’m at West Dean College this weekend, running one of my recorder courses. I’d purposely left taking today’s photo until I got here as there is so much to see. However, when I came to load the car to leave home the heavens opened and it’s been bucketing with rain ever since- typical! Photography isn’t allowed in the house and the gardens are a non-starter in this weather so I decided to take a photo of some of my travel essentials. Over the years I’ve become quite adept at packing lightly and have reduced my washbag to a selection of tiny bottles of the essentials – shampoo, shower gel, moisturiser etc. The other essential for courses like these is some hot chocolate. The College provide coffee in the rooms but the UHT milk they offer to go with it is revolting (my Dad says UHT stands for ‘Utterly Horrible Taste’!) so I always make sure I bring some instant chocolate for the evenings. Simple pleasures….
